Young Women Sponsorship and mentorship
Mentorship and enabled opportunities are important for young women from less affluent backgrounds, who often lack the opportunities others have to network with successful individuals who can help them jump-start their careers. Whatever their background or education, one thing is certain: The sooner young women are exposed to and have a chance to learn from positive female role models across a variety of roles and fields, the better prepared they will be to think imaginatively and limitlessly about their future and tackle the obstacles they encounter with confidence and courage. IHC do sponsor and mentor young women passionate about patient care, elderly care, palliative care and hospice community awareness on women empowerment, tech innovations and impact of climate changes in health.
Assistive technology at work
Assistive technology refers to a range of specialized devices and software used by dependent people to support activities of daily living and specific life tasks. Elderly, persons with disabilities experience a disconnect between their needs and adoption of technologies that have potential to assist and to support more independent living. This aids in promoting inclusion and participation in tasks hence wellbeing enhancements. Assistive technology innovations with the help of medical practitioners aims to inform a program of research into improving its adoption where they can ameliorate identified needs of older people and persons with disabilities globally.
Most older people want to live in their own home rather than in long term care facilities or nursing homes. To help them do this they need the right help in their home at the right time – services ranging from cleaning and shopping through to more intimate help such as assistance with bathing and going to the toilet. Many of these services must be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Roles are changing and we are embracing community discharges with home care services.
Impact of Climatic changes on human health.
Climate change has a lot of impact on human physiological functions. For instance, in intense weather changes like flooding can lead to water-borne diarrheal disease outbreaks and population displacement without good fluid and nutrition intake affecting daily dietary intake of individuals. Extreme flooding can lead to water stagnations that can become breading places for disease-carrying mosquitoes, Ebola resulting in more pandemics and reduced agricultural produce that may lead to malnutrition and even death. We focus on the Primary Health Care which outlines mass training on dangers and management of harsh climatic changes and their impact on health..
